Wow, just wow. I can only start at the beginning and attempt to convey just how awful this entire ordeal was.

Let me start with the rehearsal that he showed up late for. He repeatedly got frustrated with everyone their (especially the children because they are young and running around). I can understand that. I thought he might just take this whole thing a bit too seriously, but that can be a good thing when it comes to weddings. Let it slide. Had multiple people make comments, but it wasn’t a deal breaker.

Let us fast forward to the wedding day. Wedding starts at 2:30 (like bride down the aisle at 2:30). He forgets and shows up at 3 and has to completely set up all of his equipment while the bride sits in the back room waiting.

The ceremony begins, everyone looks lovely. The groom’s mic isn’t working, but it is a small area and everyone can hear just fine. He takes such offense to the mic not working he is throwing his arms up behind the groomsmen and walks up to them insisting the go turn his mic on while the “ I Do’s ” and vows are happening . They refuse to interrupt the ceremony and he keeps telling them to have the officiant move closer with the mic so everyone can hear. A groomsman leaves his place to go tell the officiant and now he has to stand awkwardly close while reciting his vows.

We all make our way back down the aisle with the happy couple and go to take our group photos now that they can see each other. We are out and about for about 45 minutes, come back in and are waiting in the back room to be announced so we can sit at the tables and start the food and speeches. We are waiting about 15 to 20 minutes and have not been announced. We are told we are waiting on the DJ. We are all lined up and we hear him release the audience to go get food.

Everyone knows the Bride and Groom get served first, then the bridal party, and then the audience. So now we are all standing in the back trying to figure out what is going on. He shows up to tell us that since everyone has gone up to eat there are no more plates for us to eat on. He proceeds to leave and then carry a pizza to the back room to feed us. Why the Hell can’t he just introduce us so we can eat at a table and not in some back room?

Finally he announces us, and we get food. We all sit as the First Dance is about to happen. The Bride and Groom go out to the floor, and no song plays. Not delayed just a few seconds…. Like legitimately long enough for the audience to start singing the song for them while he tries to figure it out. Ok, equipment has issues, it was awkward, but we can move on and laugh about it later. The Dad and Daughter dance is next, they go out there. No music plays again. Awkward again…. The Mom and Son dance is next, no song. Longest time of the 3 where they just stood out there, at this point everyone is commenting on how bad it is.

At this point even the other people we had hired for the event are coming up and commenting how this is the worst they have ever seen. Had about 5 different guests come up separately and tell us how he had taken a whole pizza and put it behind the DJ booth. Would we have offered it to him? Of course, but he just took it. I even went back (on one of the many occasions where he just vanished) to see if maybe he had just had a box with like 2 slices, nope. Over half a pizza was in it.

I will give him points for getting everyone to line up and making the Groom run a gauntlet while having to dance sexily, that was really entertaining. He did a great job with that.

We thought it was also a little weird that he played several country songs that were about cheating on your spouse during the reception. Not to mention I don’t think half the songs played were chosen by the Bride and Groom. We had fun towards the end, the music got figured out, and we danced and had a blast.

Oh, I almost forgot. We could not find him anywhere to announce the cake cutting so the father of the bride went up to put the song on and bring everyone in. The DJ showed up as they were finishing sharing the cake with each other.

We recently attended a wedding where this DJ completely botched the event. Wedding started at 2:30 - he showed up 30 mins late..
his set up was behind the groomsmen. The couple had a family member marry them. He did a wonderful job although this DJ was throwing his arms up in the air, sarcastically laughing, and saying pshh and pacing back and forth. all eyes went to him and everyone was in shock that he would ruin this moment for the couple. The cermony was beautiful and he had no reason to draw attention to tiny flaws that NOBODY cares about or notices. His songs also wouldn't play when he wanted them to. and i mean the important moments like father /bride dance and groom / mother dance. We had to actually sing for them while the dj scrambled to actually play the songs it was sad
